Community projects

Tekstvak: Our involvement in the local community began in February 2010 with the Ibhola Project which seeks to bring together boys from the rural areas of KwaDukuza (formally known as Stanger). The idea behind the initiative is to provide training for the youths and an opportunity to play competitive sport. We focus on developing their ability to work as a team and teaching them the importance of discipline and determination. With the help of volunteers and financial donations from generous donors, we provide four training sessions a week. Unfortunately after one year the group became smaller and smaller and we had to stop this project, we shifted our focus to the afterschool club

Tekstvak: After School Club Encouraged by the early success of the Ibhola Project, we decided to establish an after schools project in April 2010 at the L. Bodasing School. With the blessing of the principal and teachers, we invited the children to the club on Wednesday afternoons. More than 70 school goers signed up, giving us an incredible opportunity to invest in their education and development. Every week is different. For Mother’s Day we made gifts, some days we play games outside and other days we focus on creative projects. The teachers’ support has played a vital role in the club, with many of them giving up their free time to help.
